1. Darby Accord

The Big Darby Accord Review Team (BDART) has been working for the past year developing an Amendment to the 2006 Big Darby Accord.

MKSK (project consultant) shared that the first amendment draft would be released 12/9/2025 at 1pm. The release will include a summary overview, draft amendment, webinar (pre-recorded), and PowerPoint.

“To begin this first draft share-out process, MKSK plans to send a packet of materials that will include: 1) a link to an Overview Webinar that provides an overview of the process to date, summarizes key areas of the Accord that the Amendment intends to address, and shares a process for feedback and  follow-up meetings; 2) an in-process Summary of the Amendment; 3) a link to the Draft Amendment document; and 4) a link to comment forms for feedback.

“The intent is to share this preliminary rough draft with stakeholders early to get your feedback and then work with the BDART to review your feedback and make revisions and improvements for a more refined draft to share with the public in February.”

MKSK and the City are hosting stakeholder listening sessions next week and the first two weeks in January.

“We will be reaching out with blocks of time to meet with the various stakeholder groups to have deeper discussions and gather early thoughts and feedback. These blocks will be for the weeks of December 15-19 (if interested in meeting before the holidays), and January 5-9 and January 12-16 after the new year.”

MKSK/the City’s current deadline for stakeholder feedback is January 12, 2026. They will then meet with the Big Darby Accord Review Team (BDART, which is includes Columbus, Hilliard, Franklin County, Brown Twp, and Prairie Twp) to create a final draft for public review.

The City’s goal remains adoption by Columbus City Council in February 2026.

2. Union County / Marysville

• Marysville City Council approves zoning changes

• Union County-Marysville are in the process of updating its Economic Development Strategy (EDS).  They have hired Boyette Strategic Advisors (BSA) who is conducting various discovery sessions. The BIA is participating in a 12/11/2025 call regarding. Please let me know your input.

• “The Union County Community Improvement Corporation and Union County-Marysville Economic Development Partnership would like to invite you to the 1^st Annual Union County, Ohio Housing Summit scheduled for Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 8:00 – 10:30 a.m. @ the Automotive and Mobility Innovation Center, 1100 Innovation Way, Suite D, Marysville, Ohio 43040 (flyer attached).  This event is open to citizens, business leaders, community leaders, school leaders, developers, and interested parties to learn about the state of housing in Union County and the Columbus Region. The goal is to create dialogue and discussion and provide education on how access to housing, housing affordability, planning, and economic development all play a part in how our community seeks to improve prosperity for our residents and our businesses.”

3. Fairfield County / Lancaster

The 2025 Fairfield County and City of Lancaster Housing Study has been completed and is now available here. The Key Takeaways document is attached.

4. City of Columbus
